Our Story

That One Card Company started because someone (definitely not our owner) got frustrated in a Kroger.

She was just trying to find a card—not for a birthday, not for an anniversary—just a card. Ten full minutes in the aisle later, she finally found one that wasn’t about a spouse or someone’s niece turning five. It wasn’t cute, it wasn’t funny, but it was the best option. So she grabbed the sub-par card, checked out, and left with a feeling: there had to be a better way.

Later that day, she joked she was so annoyed she’d just start her own card company—one with good-looking, well-designed cards that didn’t immediately disqualify you from buying them just because of who they were “for.” Maybe they’d be kind of funny, too.

And now, here we are.

That One Card Company has since become a passion project under the Carrie Says Hello umbrella—a growing collection of creative work by Carrie (@carriesayshello) that’s all about making everyday life a little more meaningful, beautiful, and fun. From hand-drawn prints to relatable cards and curated sets, TOCC is where Carrie’s design-forward, people-first approach shows up in paper form.

We believe in the power of a well-designed, recipient-ambiguous card to make someone’s day. With TOCC, you’re the one who brings the magic. Whether it’s a random Tuesday or a moment that matters, a good card is always in season.

So go ahead—make someone’s day.
